With top TV quizmaster Chris Tarrant as its Vice president, it makes perfect sense for Princess Alice Hospice to launch 'LET'S QUIZ'. The charity is calling out to their local community to organise a quiz night event during the coming months.
The Hospice is hosting one of the first quiz nights with a staff fundraising evening, the event will see nurses battling fundraisers and doctors competing with the housekeeping and catering teams for the accolade of the 'Brightest Department'.
Quiz nights are very simple fundraisers, you simply need a venue, be it a pub, school hall or even your dining room and a pack of questions, answers and some competitive guests, the Hospice will provide the quiz pack - including questions sheets, answers, posters for publicising the event, balloons etc - and organisers simply need to find some quizzers.
Football fans head to every Premiership stadium to raise money for the Sam Beare and Woking Hospices
Four friends who all work in Weybridge have broken a new record and raised over £1,500 by visiting every Premier League ground within 24 hours on Saturday, January 30.
The trip, called 4 Fellas Fantastic Football Odyssey saw Craig Morgan, 28, Dean Roe, 22, James Slade, 27, and Alistair Trump, 24 visit all 20 stadiums in a bid to raise money for the emergency Woking and Sam Beare Hospices appeal.
The quartet who all work at pharmaceutical company IDIS, kicked it all off by driving to Portsmouth's Fratton Park at five in the morning, and working their up, reaching the most northern team, Sunderland then heading back to London.
The Surrey Care Trust has places available for anyone that wants to run the London Marathon on Sunday, April 25.
The Care Trust, which helps local people disadvantaged by lack of opportunity or social and economic circumstances is asking any participants to help raise around £1,500 each with the fundraising team helping in any way they can.

Employees from a Weybridge based accountancy firm are taking part in a green government initiative which sees them cycling to work.
TWP Accounting, which is based in Church Street, has been taking part in the Cycle to Work programme, where employees make regular payments through their salaries until the cost of a brand new bike is complete.
Due to the money coming from gross pay, savings are made on National Insurance contributions and Income Tax.
As part of a record breaking attempt, the Scope charity shop in Weybridge is asking people to donate their old mobile phones from Friday, January 8 until Friday, January 15.
The disabled charity, which has a shop in Queen's Road, has teemed up with recycling partner Redeem Plc in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for collecting the greatest number of used mobile phones donated in one week.
The winner of the Friends of Weybridge Hospital's Christmas Raffle has been announced as Mrs Joy Burton.
The charity, which raises money for Weybridge Hospital, in Church Street, awarded Mrs Burton the winner and gave her the prize of a festive hamper on Monday, December 21.
The raffle raised £850 for the hospital.
Throughout the year, the charity has been raising money for the hospital and in September a new reception area was opened with funds raised raised by the group.
The latest figures have been released by Woking Hospice and Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge for its appeal to save the day centre services from being closed.
Currently, Woking Hospice has raised £169,000 for the appeal and Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge has raised £80,000.
Both Hospices need £300,000 by the end of December if they are to have a chance of keeping the services open.
This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford braved the cold on Wednesday, November 25 to turn on the Christmas lights in Queens Road, Weybridge.
The television and real life partner of Eamonn Holmes, switched on the lights at 7pm after explaining to the crowd that had gathered that the evening was a fundraising event for the Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge.
The retailers in the road stayed open later, offered wine and nibbles to their customers and held a raffle to raise money for the hospice, which is based in Church Street.
A Christmas fun run is being held this Sunday (6) starting at the David Lloyd leisure centre in Brooklands Road, Weybridge to raise money for Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.
The 5km run will start at 9am and costs £8 per adult and £5 for under 17's.
There will be a prize for the 1st male, 1st female and best dressed.
All finishers will receive a medal, a mince pie and either a glass of mulled wine or a cup of coffee.
